Closing in on the mountains...

You then come upon what is termed "The Notch" as you drive through the mountains. There is an immediate and bizarre change of weather pattern...

The sky grays and the mountains rise above you. It is always fun to watch the skiers flying down the mountain...

I had forgotten one major drawback of driving north: There are approximately 3 radio stations and they all sound like this:

But, it was still an enjoyable trip. And I knew I was in the Great North Woods when I saw this guy:
